Reflections and Inspirations

This year has thrown its fair share of challenges my way, both personally and professionally. Yet, I'm immensely grateful for the people and inspirations that pulled me through. In the midst of it all, I've uncovered facets of myself and my kids, and picked up some valuable life skills. Below are a few of the things that helped me – take what helps you, and ignore the rest.

The Reads That Lit a Fire

Food for my brain and motivation…

  • Glass Ceiling Epiphanies became my north star, motivating me to keep striving despite the hurdles.

  • The Divorce Colony was a captivating piece, highlighting women carving paths in a society stacked against their success.

The Stuff That's Been a Lifesaver

For Me…

  • Let's be real—wine is sometimes a lifesaver. My mom got me these stylish hobnail glasses and I use them for my wine (no stem and sturdy – the basic qualifiers needed for a wine glass in a kid-friendly home.)

  • My NordiTrack Bike has been my go-to for cardio, low impact and high on results.

  • The FitOn Workout App has been a game-changer. Its free option is AMAZING and all the different workout options and suggestions have kept me motivated, healthy, and feeling fantastic. A set of light dumbbells and a yoga mat is all I use.

For The Kids…

  • Subscriptions to Prime TV and Disney+ — perfect for cozy movie nights with the kids (think popcorn and cuddles)

  • Game night games that were a hit included Yatzee and Trolls Monopoly Jr.

  • Legos – the classic box. Both my (younger) kids enjoy the free play than actually following instructions for the kits. And we all have fun together building stuff.

The Inspiration That Kept Me Going

A few incredible women I found on Instagram whose words resonated deeply…

  • @brookeweinst helped me navigate and manage my emotions—it's been a game-changer.

  • @drbeckyatgoodinside shed light on understanding my "Big Feeling" kid, making me a better mom in the process.

  • @attachmentnerd provided me with insights that strengthened my bond with my children.

  • @diaryofanhonestmommade me feel understood, less alone in this wild journey we call parenthood.
